Zoe-perry
Perry is a Chicago native, birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles were two appearances as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mother. Perry was forbidden to begin acting by her parents until she reached adulthood, as they feared the stress it would cause. Perry shy and timid to perform in the high school, started to act in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new friends. Perry following her graduation from Boston University, relocated in New York in search of acting roles on television. Her small part was in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness led her to California to find theater work. Perry performed with her mom in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. Perry was in the show with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry appeared nine times in the ABC drama The Family, in 2016. Her father portrayed her in her role on the ABC drama Scandal. The same year, she played a young character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother as a young version. She was cast in the role in an audition that was open despite being a fan of this role.
